“Why most of my colleagues struggle financially” – Legendary actress Patience Ozokwor

Nigerian legendary actress, Patience Ozokwor, has revealed the peak reasons why most of her colleagues struggle financially.

The iconic actress who recently appeared on an admitted interview lectured curious fans through why most of her colleagues suffer financially in Nollywood.

According her utterances, most of the cast they portray is temporary pay, which strips them with their possible royalties. He confirmed that they don’t earn royalties. Instead, they are paid temporarily for their supposed casts. This would, in return, drain their finances.

She made reference with Hollywood, who offer royalties to their actresses and actors, which in turn keep generating them income daily even at the point of death. Unlike Nollywood, their actors/actresses don’t receive royalties.

She added that this is one of the vital reasons why most of her colleagues now prefer YouTube to their random casts, which offers a temporary payment.

“The reason why Nollywood actors and actresses are poor is because we don’t get Royalties for what we do, we only get paid for our appearance at the shoot. Go and look at the smallest actors in developed countries. Every work dey do fetch them money everyday of their lives. Even when they are gone, their families still live on that. We, we are still working hard. That’s why everyone is running to Youtube” Her words.

Nigerians couldn’t hold their nerves and reacted massively on all social platforms according to their views.
