Nigerian music mogul and CEO of Mavin record label Don Jazzy has revealed one of the peak reasons he follows Gen Z baddies on Instagram.
Appearing as a guest at a popular podcast, Don Jazzy detailed that following the Gen Z’s on Instagram helps him with scouting for talents as the strategy has helped him discover the likes of Ayra Starr.
When asked about his scouting approach, Don Jazzy revealed that most often, he aligns with his Instagram Gen Z friends and convinces them to introduce him to their talented friend. This he claimed helped him discover Ayra Starr.
According to him, when he was introduced to Ayra Starr, he loved how her lyrical flow reflected on Gen Z’s experience and overview. However, he didn’t reach out to her immediately. Their bond would eventually utilise a contract, which turned out to be a success.

Don Jazzy announced that his scouting revolves around reaching out to young stars, and this has overly helped him balance his niche and approach to work.
In reality, Don Jazzy has continued to be a sole toll to discovering incredible stars who have helped grace the global phase of the Afrobeat genre.
