Running for 4 minutes and 2 seconds, the track marks his first solo release since his acclaimed 2022 album, hypochondriac. The new era was preceded by an elaborate mystery campaign that kept fans guessing across Discord, Reddit, and social media.
The rollout began on September 16, when a mysterious account known as “jesterforgetter” shared coordinates with brakence’s online community. Fans who followed the clues reportedly discovered physical “Have you seen brakence?” posters containing QR codes that led to a mysterious website featuring a previously unheard audio snippet.
The mystery deepened on September 20, when brakence appeared on TikTok Live for an unusual 13-minute broadcast featuring eerie sounds, puppets, a velvet curtain, and brief vocal previews. The appearance eventually confirmed the September 25 release date for “ready or noT.”
With its unconventional campaign and long-awaited arrival, “ready or noT” introduces the next chapter of brakence’s music following hypochondriac.
