Fola – Hold U Down Ft. Darkoo

Nigerian singer and songwriter FOLA continues to expand his musical catalogue with “Hold U Down,” a collaboration featuring Nigerian-British singer and rapper Darkoo.

The record brings together FOLA’s soulful Afro-R&B approach and Darkoo’s distinctive Afrobeats and Afroswing sound, creating a collaboration that highlights the versatility of both artists.

FOLA has steadily emerged as one of the notable new-generation voices in Nigerian music. His music is characterized by soulful vocals, heartfelt storytelling, contemporary African rhythms, and a strong R&B influence. The Guardian has similarly highlighted his emotive delivery and Fuji-tinged vocal style as important parts of his artistry.

“Hold U Down” pairs FOLA with Darkoo for a record that sits comfortably within the modern Afrobeats and Afro-R&B landscape. FOLA brings his smooth, melodic vocal delivery to the song, while Darkoo adds her own energetic and recognizable presence.
