South African World Cup campaign turned out disastrous after suffering a dominant defeat from Mexico.
The match that started with an intense approach foresaw Mexico dominating from the start as Mexico looked sharp and unstoppable.
With a dominant approach, South African defense couldn’t withhold Mexican force, leading to the first goal netted by J. Quiñones. This would be followed by further dominance that foresaw South African defense trembling and plummeting to several mistakes that led to the second goal converted by Raul Jeminez in the 67th minutes of the game.
Prior to this, South African defenders were subjected to foreseeing punishment attributed to their reckless tackling, following how the likes of Y. Sithole and T. Zwane was sent off in the 50th and 84th minute of the game. They were subjected to further punishment as Mexico triumphed comfortably with a 2-0 victory.
Meanwhile, after the game, the heat didn’t drop as Africans launched a massive criticism, making fun of the players. This, however, was sparked by the frustration aligning to South African call for fellow Africans to leave their country, alleging that they are distablising their economy and taking their jobs. The match had far gone turned violence as several South African activists were found portraying xenophobic attacks on fellow African civilians living in their country. To return their energy, Africans across the globe weaponised their recent FIFA World Cup loss against Mexico, trolling them incredibly via all social media platforms.
The headlines have made massive marks as the trolling has continued to outline the grief of African nations over South Africa.
Africa was divided as South Africa faced Mexico in the Fifa World Cup opening match on Thursday.
Many cheered for Mexico in what some online called a “successful hate watch”, amid tensions fuelled by recent anti-migrant unrest in South Africa.
