American gospel legend Kirk Franklin teams up with Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido on “Hope In You,” a powerful cross-genre collaboration featured on Franklin’s album, I Am What I Am. The song unites contemporary gospel influences with African pop sounds, bringing together two artists from different musical backgrounds.
“Hope In You” pairs Kirk Franklin’s signature choir-driven gospel style with the vibrant rhythms of Afrobeats. Davido adds his recognizable vocal delivery to the track, creating a distinctive combination that bridges gospel music and modern African pop.
The collaboration forms part of I Am What I Am, a 14-track double album featuring seven studio recordings and seven live performances. Beyond his work with Davido, Franklin expands the project’s musical scope through appearances from American artists such as GloRilla, Jelly Roll, and Tobe Nwigwe.
